Safety Tips
As an on going service to our valued customers, we would like to share some passenger safety tips which will make your trip not only enjoyable but a safe experience.Lamers Motor Coach & Mini-Coach® Passenger Safety Tips
Your professional motor coach driver's first responsibility is the safety of their passengers. He or she, many times prior to departure will advise their passengers that for their personal safety to follow a few basic bus traveler instructions. Usually items such as:- Try and remain seated while the bus is in motion.
- If you need to use the restroom, please hold on to the overhead racks or headrests as you move to maintain stable footing.
- Never stand up before the bus has come to a complete stop when arriving at your destinations.
- For our younger passengers (or just young at heart), we ask that distracting activity be kept to a minimum as it could detract from the drivers safe operation of the vehicle.
- Please be watchful of where you place your feet when entering and exiting the bus
- Please use the handrails.
Consumer Protection Tips
Bidding for motor coach services can be very complicated. Unless you carefully prepare your bid specifications, your group(s) could end up high and dry on the side of the road. Comparing bids strictly on price can leave the person responsible for securing the transportation in a very precarious position. To help you get all the service and reliability you want and deserve, we offer these tips for better chartering.- Does your group have any special needs that must be met? Things like the need for restroom, video equipment, wheelchair lift, galley or other special equipment.
- Clearly spell out your schedule and what is involved in detail. Be sure the company knows what hours the driver must be available to the group.
- Ask how long the company has been in business. Find out when the company was established, and how long it has been offering charter motor coach services. A good track record is always desirable.
- Request that the company supply its ICC and DOT numbers. Such numbers are assigned by the U.S. Government and are required to operate legally.
- What is the company's DOT Safety Rating? A satisfactory rating is standard. Never charter from a company with an unsatisfactory rating. Call the Federal Highway Administration's Office of Motor Carriers at 1-800-832-5660 to verify a carrier's safety rating.
