A Little About Wausaukee
The original Wausaukee Village was founded in 1887 by John S Monroe to support the logging industry. The name Wausaukee comes from the Menominee Indians, the native settlers of this area, and means "among the rolling hills."
Marinette County features vast public lands, trails, abundance of water falls, reservoirs, lakes, rivers and streams that offer a multitude of recreational opportunities year round.
