Lamers Tour & Travel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Travel Specialist to join our team. As a Group Travel Specialist, you will be responsible for creating unforgettable travel experiences for our clients, coordinating group tours. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in travel planning, tour operations, or a related field.
- Knowledge of domestic travel destinations in Wisconsin and neighboring states, including popular attractions, cultural experiences, and logistical considerations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with vendors and clients.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in travel booking systems and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passion for travel and a desire to create memorable experiences for our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT
Group Travel Specialists are responsible for the planning and development of tours. After a rough plan for the tour is laid out in writing, the plan must be presented to the Manager for approval. If approved, the next step in the process is development.
- Final or primary destination of the tour
- Suggested length of the tour
- Attractions to be included in the tour
- Meals to be included in the tour
- Guide services to be used during the tour
- Receptive operators to be used, if any
- Any other special services applicable to the tour
ORGANIZATION & SECURING VENDORS
After the detailed plan for a catalog tour has been developed and approved by the Tour Manager, it is time to complete the final organization of the tour and secure vendors for various included aspects of the tour.
- First, secure hotel/motel accommodation at various locations for multi-day trips.
- Make reservations and secure contracts with all attractions, meals, guide services and any other services included in the tour.
- Obtain a price for the motor coach from Lamers Bus Lines.
When contracts arrive from various vendors on a tour, it is important to complete the information required on the spreadsheet to facilitate follow up on deposits, final payments, and any other details.
TOUR OPERATION
Prepare and submit final financial preparations, client documents and tour director material.
TOUR RECONCILIATION
Upon completion of a tour prepare a complete report of the tour for accounting. The final report must include all expenses with receipts.
