Motor Coach Dispatcher

Lamers Bus Lines is looking for an experienced commercial driver Dispatcher to actively work with Lamers two current Dispatchers, handling our Motor Coach department from Green Bay, Wisconsin, terminal. You will be responsible for assigning drivers and equipment for our 10 motor coach locations throughout Wisconsin. Your duties include the efficient dispatch of drivers and equipment throughout the United States and Canada. Hours working are noon to 9 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. 

This position requires understanding of the Federal Motor Carrier safety Regulations so dispatch will be in total compliance. Successful applicants will be able to handle multiple tasks at one time, while being detailed, with excellent communication skills. You must be proficient with a computer and knowledge of Distinctive systems is helpful. This position requires a clean driving record and CDL.

Primary Duties
• Handle the matching of customer charters to appropriate equipment and qualified drivers, including remote terminals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Rapids, La Crosse, Wausau and others.
• Maximize utilization of vehicles while adhering to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Update sales managers on location of equipment/ availability for charters.
• Work to limit dead head and any overhead cost related to dispatch department.
• Monitor booking graphics. On overbooked dates alert sales managers to verify additional bookings with dispatch for anything more that 15% over capacity.
• Work to improve information the drivers get from dispatch and improve paperwork accuracy.
• Dispatch drivers a minimum of 10 days out. Extended tours and charters should be dispatched a minimum of 30 days out when possible.
• On site dispatching—When major functions occur such as Conventions or Olympics bus movements dispatcher may be needed to work at location.
• Handle requests for emergency ground transportation for Airports during bad weather — timely response is important.
