The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently conducted a full DOT safety fitness rating that started 8/7/2018 and concluded on 8/31/2018. Lamers received the best possible rating with zero violations affecting the safety rating – “no acute or critical violations.”
ALL areas of safety concerning bus transportation – from driver qualification, operational /driving, vehicle/maintenance, and general required area to recordable accidents were thoroughly reviewed. The Federal auditor stated that “our records were amazing, saved over a week and ½ of time because everything was in order.
Current examples that demonstrate Lamers constant safety efforts:
– Since 1/1/2017 Lamers has added 4 full time staff to our safety department working with driver, e-logs, files, and testing.
– The Midwest’s only traveling Motorcoach with Training Center that has a “State of the Art “driving simulator. To date, Lamers has trained more than 2000 drivers in the simulator.
– Lamers purchased a six-DVD School Bus Instructional Series covering the latest topics of concern in the School Bus Industry. The drivers are participating in this training during our regularly scheduled Safety Meetings.
Lamers works diligently to remain abreast of rules and regulations thru member associations IMG, UMA, ABA, National Safety Council and Wisconsin School Bus Association. Lamers welcomes pubic safety agency reviews and complies with all inspection requests from various agencies.
