Great music, the beauty of the Smoky Mountains plus wonderful live shows are on tap during this uncommon collection of the largest annual Gospel music event in the country. The week-long festival features the very best traditional Gospel music in the world. We depart for this fun event today making our usual stops along the way. Pausing in the Louisville, KY area early evening our first overnight at the Drury Inn & Suites.
DAY TWO — B, D
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before hitting the road again. Before you know it the beautiful Smoky Mountains are coming into view. Upon arriving in Pigeon Forge, TN we check into the Country Cascades Resort Hotel for the next three nights. Freshen up a bit then depart to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Applewood Farmhouse. Our first music experience will be after dinner at the Country Tonite Show.
DAY THREE — B, D
Enjoy a mountain breakfast served in the on-site Grandma’s Kitchen before heading out with a guide to see the majesty of Great Smoky Mountain National Park graced with waterfalls, roaming wildlife and a view that stretches out over 500,000 acres. Later, we’re off to explore Pigeon Forge. Lumberjack Square is in the downtown area and filled with a variety of specialty shops, gift shops and clothing stores in a modern-day village atmosphere. Live shows and a great selection of restaurants are here for you to enjoy lunch on your own. This afternoon we experience the first showcase quartet here at the Gospel Quartet Festival. Get ready for superior musical harmonies and inspiring song selections. This evening we join Dolly Parton’s Pirate Voyage Dinner & Show. Get ready for the epic battle for lost treasure on land, deck and in the water! Captain Blackbeard and his quartermaster Calico Jack lead the Crimson and Sapphire crews above full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot deep indoor hideaway lagoon. While the show unfolds, enjoy a fabulous four-course dinner feast. After the show return to the hotel for free time. Enjoy a dip in the pool, see another show or just relax.
DAY FOUR — B, D
Enjoy a full breakfast buffet this morning then right out the door to see the Smith Family Morning Variety Show. This show is filled with Southern music and culture. Their unique brand of music is presented in an intimate setting and blends classic country, bluegrass, gospel and clean family comedy. Following the show lunch on your own and some shopping is in store at The Island. This entertainment zone is a perfect escape. With over 80 shops, restaurants and attractions it’s a great afternoon diversion. Don’t miss The Island Show Fountains programmed to music and lights. After a brief rest break back at the hotel, our evening is once again full first with dinner at Mama’s Farmhouse where the group has a family-style meal. Then our second gospel quartet showcase features several performances by renowned groups.
DAY FIVE — B
It’s time to begin our return travels but first we pause in the little town of Dandridge, TN. Here you’ll find The Beautiful Bean Company. Bush’s Beans Visitor Center & Museum is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and where you can learn all about the history of their beans over the last 110 years. You must try the famous Pinto Bean Pie in the café while you’re here! Enjoy your drive northward bound as we make our way back to the Louisville, KY area for our final over night at the Drury Inn & Suites.
DAY SIX — B
Today we are on the last leg of our travels but what memories of superior harmonies, food and the beauty of Mother Nature in the Smokies. We hope this has been fun for all. We arrive back home early evening.
