SPECIAL NEEDS TOUR: Cave of the Mounds
Tuesday, October 18, 2022
Price per person: $189 (1:4) / $240 (1:1)
Explore the spectacular CAVE OF THE MOUNDS located in Blue Mounds, just West of Madison. This year marks the 83rd Anniversary of the discovery of this National Natural Landmark. Witness the magical underground world and beauty of colorful rock formations that have been shaped by water throughout time. Our walking tour lasts about one hour and covers approximately 2/3 of a mile. The cave has stairs with handrails, and paved, lighted walkways making access to the cave easy. Please Note: The Cave itself is not wheelchair accessible though. We will enjoy a private program called Geology of the Earth. Learn about rocks, fossils, water, and gems with one of their educators. This popular program is geared towards our travelers’ interests. The best part of the program is everyone will get a collection of rocks and minerals to take home with them. Afterwards, visit the amazing Rock & Fossil Gift Shop and make sure to check out the Visitor Center that houses a variety of educational displays about the natural and cultural history of the area, stroll the rock gardens, flower gardens and nature trails. En route home, we enjoy an included evening meal.
Departs: Appleton/Fox Cities, WI; Fond du Lac, WI; Green Bay, WI; Oshkosh, WI
