5 Day Tour

Begin a meaningful holiday season with a tour to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. This morning we gather together and journey through Wisconsin and into Indiana and finally over the border into Kentucky. As we mingle and chat along the way we’ll pause for meal and stretch breaks. Our first overnight accommodations will be at the Hampton Inn in Florence, KY.

Start the day with a full breakfast at the hotel before our departure to nearby Petersburg, KY and our first visit, the Creation Museum. This 70,000 square foot walk through history provides an account of the beginning of all things. This journey is based on the 7 C’s – creation, corruption, catastrophe, confusion, Christ, Cross and Consummation. Guests will discover an interpretation of how science confirms biblical history. The Garden of Eden with the Tree of Life at its center stretches out its branches laden with ripened fruits. In the garden you will come face-to-face with a sauropod, a dinosaur of incredible dimensions. His monstrous frame moves through the low-lying thicket as he grazes on plants. The Cave of Sorrows shows the horrific effects from the Fall of Man. Sounds of a sin-ravaged world echo through the room. Finally, see the sacrificial Lamb on the cross and the promise of redemption. At the Stargazer’s Planetarium, experience high-definition, digital technologies as you recline under the star dome. Soar through the solar system and far beyond the Milky Way. There is so much more to discover here at the museum. Don’t miss the screen presentation of The Last Adam which outlines the glory of God’s redemptive plan. Lunch is on your own at the onsite Noah’s Café. Later this evening enjoy a dinner cruise with contemporary gospel music entertainment onboard the Queen City Riverboat.

We have a great day in store today. The highlight attraction is in Williamstown, home of The Ark Encounter. This is a full-sized replica of the largest wooden timber structure in the world. The fabled Ark is 510 feet long and more than 50 feet tall before the sail is added with hundreds of displays, including mock-ups of animal stalls, recreations of how Noah and his family may have lived, and even an animatronic version of Noah. It offers the same quality of Universal Studios and is ONE OF A KIND IN THE WORLD. Lunch is included in the enormous Emzara’s Cafeteria.

With most of our day spent at the Ark Encounter we still have time to visit the Christmas Tree Shops and That! This off-price retail shop has an ever-changing selection of unique items including seasonal decorations, home décor, gifts, foods and other fab finds! Relax back at the hotel for a bit before departing once again for an included dinner at Pompilio’s Italian Restaurant used in a scene in the Hollywood blockbuster film Rainman.

Enjoy a full breakfast buffet this morning before a local guide steps onboard the coach for a driving tour of nearby Cincinnati. Enjoy the city skyline located on the banks of the Ohio River. Known as the “Queen City” view the majestic Music Hall, Union Terminal and Eden Park with its seven mile view of Kentucky. Later we’ll visit Rookwood Pottery. Our guide will share the intriguing history of the Rookwood and learn the story behind the famous name. See great craftsman at work and be able to shop in their exclusive showroom. Today’s included lunch is at the Washington Platform Restaurant, which opened in 1860 as a wine and beer saloon. Right next door to the restaurant is the hidden treasure of Minges and Sons Old Fashioned Candy. Step back in time to find all the candies you thought had stopped being sold (like candy cigarettes)! Our final visit will be a tour of the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. The cathedral is a one-third replica of the Notre Dame in Paris and boasts the largest stained glass window in the world. The Rose Window is larger than it’s counter-part in Paris. A brief rest back at the hotel before our included dinner at the first Hofbrau Haus in the U.S. Enjoy the German ambiance along with live polka music!

One final stop after we check out of our hotel and begin travels towards home. As we round through Indiana we’ll pause at Weberding Carving Shop. This unique business embraces a variety of projects including religious statue refurbishing and church furniture. Browse the showroom to see exquisite pieces of art created in the past 72 years as well as artwork created for celebrities through the U.S. and the world. We hope you enjoyed this walk through biblical history and have a joyous Christmas season with family and friends.
