Tuesday, June 22, 2021
Package Price: $122 per person
Our drive today takes us into Illinois for our first stop where we dine for an included lunch at the Route 41 Roadhouse, located in Wadsworth. After lunch, we travel to Lake Zurich to board a shuttle vehicle to take us into the Wandering Tree Estate.
Upon arrival, we are greeted by Elaine Silets also known as “The Train Lady” who’s work has been featured at the John Hancock Center in Chicago and the Christmas windows at Tiffany and Co.
This is a unique opportunity by private invitation only to see the gardens. After a short presentation, we are free to wander the grounds. This estate consists of 10 acres including the Garden Railways and the Model Train Museum. The garden experience includes: the Shabui Garden Railway; a Japanese water and stroll garden; the Gloree and Tryumphant Garden Railway, which includes 1500 feet of linear track, bridges, trestles and a waterfall that flows into a miniature lake along with rose and pool gardens.
NOTE: You will walk on uneven walkways and lawn, so unsteady walkers or people with walking issues are cautioned when considering this tour.
Departure Points: Green Bay (De Pere), Appleton, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, West Bend
We have taken enhanced health and safety measures, including additional cleaning and disinfecting, in an effort to mitigate the risks of COVID-19.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. To assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19, individuals should not travel if they are suffering from any symptoms of COVID-19. Individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 are encouraged to wear masks while traveling and all passengers should engage in frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
By traveling on a Lamers bus, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
